Vittorio Sella (1859 – 1943), a legend in mountaineering and photography, began photographing in the Alps from his home in Biella, Italy. Over his lifetime, he photographed many of the major mountain ranges all over the world. He accompanied the Duke of Abruzzi on many of his expeditions as expedition photographer. Above is an image of their camp in the Himalayas.
